Grade 3A students continued exploring the arts. This time, they delved into visual art. They visited the Pranas Domšaitis Gallery, where they learned about different art genres and explored the works of various artists. The children also tried drawing their own still lifes. In addition, they took part in a virtual journey during which they learned about one of the world’s most famous painters – Vincent van Gogh.
Grade 3 PYP F students learned how people who are blind or have visual impairments adapt to the world around them. They discovered how tactile illustrations, touch-and-sound books are created, and learned how accessible content for all is developed.
Grade 3V students attended the “Financial Laboratory” educational program organized by Swedbank, where they learned what income is and how a job interview works. They also explored the concepts of expenses, savings, and a safety cushion. Back in the classroom, they applied their new knowledge by creating mind maps.
Grade 4 PYP V students visited the Klaipėda County Police Headquarters. They learned about the daily life of police officers and the challenges they face. They also met Grikis, a future police dog who is still in training but has already won the children’s hearts.
Grade 4 PYP G students participated in a training session at “Skycop Padel House.” The children learned padel techniques, played, and spent active time together.
Grade 4K students visited the Klaipėda “Memel Automuseum,” where they immersed themselves in the world of historic cars. They listened to stories told by the museum’s founder, A. Jankevičius, and learned fascinating details about each exhibit. Later, they engaged in creative activities and took part in a mini engineering workshop. The students tested the cars they had created to see how well they rolled.
Grade 4R students took part in a graphics workshop at the Museum of the History of Lithuania Minor, where they made sustainable, reusable bags.
Grade 5A students continued exploring the magical world of the sea: they tried to hear and feel a dolphin, learned about winds, and even tried to create wind themselves. The day was full of impressions and emotions!
Grade 5 PYP A students visited the Klaipėda County Police Headquarters, where they learned about the profession of a police officer. They also visited the Klaipėda City Archive, where they learned how documents are selected and got acquainted with the work of an archivist.
Grade 5 PYP B students continued studying multiculturalism. They visited the town of Švėkšna, where they learned more about Jewish culture, Jewish life in Lithuania, and got acquainted with the Yiddish and Hebrew languages. The students also tried making traditional Lithuanian straw ornaments and created a Christmas tree decoration.
