On August 20th, we enjoyed our beloved teachers returning, and dedicated the day to professional development.
As we prepare for the new school year, our teachers attended a lecture by Prof. Dr. Urtė Neniškytė on the processes of memory.
Prof. U. Neniškytė is a neuroscientist at the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center, a Doctor of Biochemical Sciences, and an internationally recognized researcher of brain function and memory. From 2008 to 2012, she studied and worked at the University of Cambridge, later completing a research fellowship at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory. Her scientific work has been published in journals such as “Nature Reviews Neuroscience” and “Nature Communications,” and in 2019 she was named Person of the Year in Science by “Žmonės” magazine.
Her scientific insights revealed how learning and knowledge acquisition processes take place, and provided us with valuable answers on how to apply this knowledge in our work.
