Five perfect scores, four perfect scores, top International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme results, and the opportunity to choose from prestigious universities in Lithuania and abroad. Yet behind these remarkable achievements lies far more than talent—it is the result of dedicated teachers, consistent effort, a strong community, and an environment where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential.
This year’s Klaipėda Lyceum graduates share their stories, revealing what truly helped them achieve outstanding academic success.
Behind Outstanding Results Are Teachers Who Believe in Every Student
Smiltė Lajauskytė, who earned five perfect scores in the national state graduation examinations in Biology, Chemistry, History, Advanced Lithuanian Language and Literature, and Mathematics, says that throughout school she was interested in a wide range of subjects—from biology to history. Ultimately, however, she chose to pursue Medicine, a career she had dreamed of for several years.

Although preparing for the exams required a great deal of independent study, she believes her teachers and their lessons had the greatest impact on her results.
“Our teachers treated every student as an individual and always found time to talk. They cared not only about our studies but also about our lives and future plans, constantly encouraging us. You could genuinely feel that they truly cared about us. Their support was sincere,” says Smiltė.
The encouragement of her classmates was equally important. Over the years, she became part of a close-knit group of like-minded students who prepared for exams together, shared their worries, and celebrated one another’s achievements.
“Even walking into the exams together made the experience easier because you knew you weren’t alone and that others were going through the same thing,” she recalls.
According to Smiltė, a responsible attitude towards learning, focused preparation, and continuous practice with different types of exam questions allowed her to approach the examinations with confidence and peace of mind.

When Success Becomes the Story of an Entire Community
Eva Čebatoriūtė, who achieved four perfect scores in the national graduation examinations in Biology, Chemistry, Advanced Lithuanian Language and Literature, and Mathematics, admits that although she prepared consistently and with determination, the results still came as a pleasant surprise.
She is currently considering studying Medicine in Lithuania. According to Eva, her success was not only the result of disciplined independent study but also of the strong academic foundation and ongoing support provided by her teachers.
However, the greatest thing she is taking away from school is the people she met there.
“When I leave school, I take with me friendships and a sense of community with people who were equally committed to achieving their goals, who cared deeply about learning but always found time to connect with one another. That meant a great deal to me,” says Eva Čebatoriūtė.
These two stories reflect the formula behind Klaipėda Lyceum’s success: high academic expectations combined with genuine care from teachers, a supportive community, and an environment where every student is encouraged to grow and achieve their best.
Results That Speak for Themselves
The graduates’ personal achievements also reflect Klaipėda Lyceum’s overall academic performance. As every year, exceptional results are not isolated success stories but the outcome of focused educational strategies, experienced teachers, high academic standards, and a consistent approach to learning.
The average score across all national graduation examinations taken by Klaipėda Lyceum graduates this year reached 80 points. As in previous years, some of the highest results were achieved in Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. The average Chemistry score was 97.63, Biology 91.60, and Mathematics 81.83.
These achievements stem not only from demanding academic standards but also from opportunities for students to develop their strengths through specialised educational pathways while still at school.

From Year 9, students at Klaipėda Lyceum can choose additional programmes specialising in Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, or Social Sciences. These programmes allow students to deepen their knowledge in their chosen field, apply it in practical settings, complete project-based and research assignments, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
This early specialisation helps students prepare more consciously for graduation examinations and future university studies. As a result, outstanding outcomes are achieved not only in the natural sciences but also in mathematics, engineering, and the social sciences. It enables students to discover their strengths early and confidently plan their future careers.
The International Baccalaureate: Preparation for University and Beyond
Liepa Aleknavičiūtė completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Klaipėda Lyceum. She achieved the highest possible score—7 out of 7—in Mathematics, English, Biology, and History.
She explains that she chose the IB Diploma Programme because she planned to study abroad. According to Liepa, the programme not only prepared her successfully for university admission and strengthened her English-language skills but also developed lifelong competencies such as independence, responsibility, critical thinking, and effective time management.
Long-term research projects, coursework, and rigorous academic preparation all played an important role in this process.
“Although the International Baccalaureate places a great deal of responsibility on the student, the teacher becomes more of a coordinator. They help organise information, identify what deserves particular attention, and support deeper understanding of the material. That guidance was incredibly valuable,” says Liepa.
This autumn she will begin studying Liberal Arts and Sciences in the Netherlands.
At Klaipėda Lyceum, International Baccalaureate programmes are offered from Years 1 to 12. They foster critical thinking, independence, and responsibility while providing students with broad opportunities to pursue higher education both in Lithuania and internationally. The IB Diploma is recognised worldwide, and Lithuania’s official score conversion system ensures fair and transparent recognition when applying to Lithuanian universities.
This year, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Klaipėda Lyceum was completed not only by students from Lithuania but also by students from the United States, England, Iceland, India, and Belarus.
More Than Perfect Scores—Stories That Inspire
The stories of this year’s Klaipėda Lyceum graduates once again demonstrate that exceptional academic achievements are never accidental. They emerge where high expectations are combined with genuine care for every student, dedicated teachers, and a community that inspires young people to strive for more.
Five and four perfect scores, outstanding International Baccalaureate results, and opportunities to study at leading universities in Lithuania and abroad represent far more than individual success stories. They are the outcome of a consistent educational approach, a strong academic culture, and a deep belief in the potential of every student.
At Klaipėda Lyceum, educational success is measured by far more than examination results. The ultimate goal is to nurture curious, responsible, critically minded young people who have the confidence to choose their own path and are well prepared to build successful futures.
