The recently announced results of Lithuania’s national secondary school leaving examinations once again confirmed the high academic standards of Klaipėda Lyceum graduates. This year’s graduating class achieved exceptional results, with one student earning five perfect scores (100 points) and two students receiving four perfect scores each.
As in previous years, Klaipėda Lyceum graduates maintained an outstanding level of academic achievement, with an average score of 80 points across all national examinations taken. Every student successfully passed all of their chosen state examinations.
“These results reflect our students’ consistent dedication, the professionalism of our teachers, and the collective efforts of the entire Lyceum community. We are proud not only of the excellent scores, but also of our students’ ability to excel across a wide range of academic disciplines. This demonstrates a strong academic foundation, goal-oriented learning, and a responsible approach to education,” says Kristijonas Mineikis, Director of Klaipėda Lyceum.
Exceptional Performance in the Natural Sciences
This year, the strongest results were achieved in the natural sciences.
The average score in the national Chemistry examination reached an impressive 97.63 points. All eight students who sat the exam achieved the highest performance level, while four graduates received a perfect score of 100.
Students also performed exceptionally well in Biology, with an average score of 91.60 points. Two students earned perfect scores, while 90% of Biology candidates achieved the highest performance level.
Although Klaipėda Lyceum is widely recognised for its strong Mathematics and Science education, this year’s results once again demonstrated the school’s commitment to academic excellence across a broad range of disciplines. The average score in the national History examination reached 83.08 points, with 58% of students achieving the highest performance level. These results reflect the strength of the school’s Social Sciences programme and its ability to prepare students for success not only in STEM subjects but also in the humanities and social sciences.
Beginning in Grade 9, students at Klaipėda Lyceum are offered opportunities to deepen their knowledge in their chosen fields of interest through specialised academic pathways. Students may choose from additional programmes in Biomedical Engineering, Social Sciences, or the Arts. These programmes enable learners to broaden their subject knowledge while developing practical skills, research competencies, and creative thinking, as well as preparing purposefully for national examinations and future university studies. This broad range of academic options reflects the Lyceum’s commitment to helping every student discover their strengths and achieve excellence across diverse academic and creative fields.
Students also achieved excellent results in examinations across other subjects, with the overall performance reflecting the school’s consistent and comprehensive approach to education.
IB Results Exceed the Global Average for the Fifth Consecutive Year
Graduates of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) also delivered outstanding results.
The average IB Diploma score for Klaipėda Lyceum graduates was 32 points, exceeding the global IB average of 30.88 points for the fifth consecutive year.
A total of 24 out of 32 IB Diploma graduates scored 30 points or more, while the highest individual score reached 42 out of a possible 45 points.
Students earned 14 perfect subject scores of 7 out of 7, while top-level grades (6 or 7 points) were achieved 73 times across all subjects. Outstanding results were recorded in languages, mathematics, natural sciences, and social sciences. Every student received at least one top-level subject grade.
“The International Baccalaureate programme develops not only subject knowledge but also students’ ability to analyse, investigate, ask meaningful questions, and build well-reasoned arguments. These are essential skills for higher education and future professional careers,” says the Head of Klaipėda Lyceum.
Klaipėda Lyceum is the only school in Lithuania that offers the complete continuum of both the Lithuanian national curriculum and the International Baccalaureate programmes from Grade 1 through Grade 12. This gives students and their families the unique opportunity to choose their educational pathway—from the very first year of school until graduation—by studying either within the national education system or through the International Baccalaureate framework. This continuity and flexibility enable every student to pursue the learning path best suited to their strengths and long-term academic goals.
