“Blue Carpet 2026”: An Evening Dedicated to Talent, Achievement, and Community Builders

On June 10, one of the most anticipated community events of the year will take place at the Michealsen Center of LCC International University – the Klaipėda Lyceum Student and Teacher Recognition Ceremony, “Blue Carpet 2026.” The theme of this year’s event is internationalism.

During the ceremony, winners and laureates of international and national competitions, Olympiads, and projects will be honored. The Teacher of the Year award will be presented, and community members will be recognized in the traditional “Lighthouse Awards” nominations for initiative, creativity, volunteerism, academic achievement, and contributions to the life of the Lyceum.

This year, the event will also introduce a new tradition to the community: students will receive special badges in recognition of their achievements. These badges can be collected and worn as personal symbols of growth, effort, and accomplishment. It is hoped that they will become not only a form of recognition but also a lasting source of motivation.

Foreign Language Learning Begins at the Age of Three

Internationalism at Klaipėda Lyceum is not only this year’s theme but also a core part of the school’s daily mission. Since 2005, the Lyceum has developed partnerships with schools in France, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine. Through these partnerships, students and teachers participate in exchange programs, joint educational projects, cultural initiatives, and international events.

Foreign language education at Klaipėda Lyceum begins at an early age, with children learning English from the age of three. From first grade, students study English and Spanish, while from fifth grade they may additionally choose German or French. The Lyceum is also home to the “Seito San” Japanese Language and Culture Center, which broadens students’ understanding of world cultures and languages.

“The ‘Blue Carpet’ at Klaipėda Lyceum has always been more than a ceremony for me. It is an evening when the entire community can pause and see just how much talent, dedication, sensitivity, and courage are growing within our school. We are proud of our students who strive for the highest achievements in Lithuania and around the world, of the teachers who inspire them to dream bigger, and of the parents who are part of this journey every day,” says Klaipėda Lyceum Director Kristijonas Mineikis.

A Program Featuring Outstanding Performances

The evening’s program will include exceptional musical performances by Klaipėda Lyceum students and guest performers from the Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts. The stage will feature moving musical pieces, as well as dance and music performances.

Klaipėda Lyceum invites students’ parents, family members, alumni, and the entire community to join this special celebration, celebrate the achievements of young people, and thank the teachers who help make those achievements possible every day.
