A lovely celebration at Small Klaipėda Lyceum – the First Graders’ 100th Day of School

It seems like only yesterday that the children timidly began their school journey, holding onto the arms of the twelfth graders – and now they have already spent 100 days as first graders.

All week long, the children completed various tasks related to the number one hundred: they brought 100 items from home, collected 100 signatures, counted 100 drops of water, and observed what they looked like in a glass. The week concluded with a festive 100th Day celebration featuring student performances inspired by poems by Anzelmas Matutis. Through these performances, the first graders showcased what they had learned during their 100 days at school: counting-out rhymes, endless tales, riddles, tongue twisters, as well as acting, dancing, singing, and playing the ukulele.

The text, photos, and video material were prepared by Klaipėda Lyceum intern and journalism student Rita Jašinskė.
