On December 2nd, the MYP 7A students experienced a completely different kind of school day — one filled with genuine emotions, discoveries, curiosity, and a sincere fascination with science. Instead of their regular lessons, they travelled to Vilnius to learn through hands-on experience, active participation, and real-life moments that remain in memory far longer than theory.
The educational trip was organized by their homeroom teacher and mathematics teacher, Snieguolė Stakvilionė, who aimed to show her students that mathematics is everywhere — in electrical phenomena, in technology, and in the laws that govern chemical processes.
The first stop of the trip was the Energy and Technology Museum, where students were captivated by the “Tesla Show.” They not only witnessed the power of electricity up close but also experienced that special moment when science comes alive — with sparks, sound, and real experiments. As they explored the museum, the students realized how much creativity, effort, and innovation lie behind the simple reality that our homes have light and warmth every day.
Even more excitement awaited at the Mėgintuvėlis.lt laboratory. There, the students enthusiastically carried out chemical experiments: they mixed substances, observed reactions, grew air bubbles, and even conducted fire experiments. Each activity brought them joy, a sense of discovery, and those unforgettable “aha” moments that textbooks simply cannot provide. Working in a real laboratory allowed them to experience how science emerges from questions, courage to experiment, and natural curiosity.
This day was filled with sincere curiosity, shared joy, collaboration, and inspiration. The students returned not only enriched with new knowledge but also realizing that learning can be engaging, meaningful, creative, and — most importantly — full of smiles.
