On December 18, the traditional charity event will take place, during which the Klaipėda Lyceum community is invited to the musical fairy tale “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King,” created based on motifs from the legendary story by the famous German writer E. T. A. Hoffmann.
This will be a special event of the year, intertwining music, dance, and theatre, featuring all Klaipėda Lyceum students together with their teachers – from kindergarteners to seniors. In this story about courage, friendship, and belief in miracles, little Maria (student Izabelė Linkevičiūtė) together with the Nutcracker (student Edanas Mėšletys) embark on a magical Christmas Eve adventure full of challenges and light.
The musical fairy tale “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” is a traditional Klaipėda Lyceum charity project that has been organized for more than twenty years. Every year, the Lyceum community holds Christmas charity concerts attended by around two thousand spectators. The funds raised are donated to various organizations and individuals in need. Throughout the history of this project, we have donated more than 300,000 euros together.
Over the years, support has been provided to the “Little Prince Academy” center for autistic children, the Klaipėda Children’s Vision Education Center, Klaipėda “Medeinė” School, the Children’s Heart Association, the Order of Malta Relief Organization, the Food Bank, the Association for Children with Diabetes, as well as children suffering from oncological and genetic diseases. In recent years, special attention has been given to Ukrainian children affected by war.

The funds raised during this year’s charity project will be donated to the Klaipėda Autism Association “Lietaus vaikai” (“Rain Children”) and to Ukrainian children who have suffered due to the war.
The main roles in the musical fairy tale will be performed by students and teachers of the Lyceum:
Edanas Mėšletys (Nutcracker), physical education teacher Saulius Lukonas (Mouse King), history teacher Vaidas Pamparas (Drosselmeyer and Narrator), Izabelė Linkevičiūtė (Maria), and Domantas Kučinskas (Fritz).
This event is not only an impressive Christmas celebration but also a meaningful experience of togetherness, uniting the entire school community in doing good. We invite everyone – students, parents, teachers, friends, and guests – to immerse themselves in a Christmas fairy tale and together bring hope to those who need it most.
The directors of the musical fairy tale are Tomas Jašinskas and Taurūnas Baužas.
Tickets for the event can be purchased HERE.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Klaipėda Autism Association “Lietaus vaikai” and to Ukrainian children affected by the war. Thank you for your kindness.
