The Small Klaipėda Lyceum started the week with an artistic reading competition for preschool and grades 1–2 students titled “The Most Beautiful Flower – Our Homeland Lithuania”, dedicated to celebrating Lithuania’s Independence Day.
Although participants admitted before the competition that they felt a little shy, all the young citizens recited poems about their homeland with love, wide gestures, and smiles, touching the hearts of the listeners.
During the event, the children were also inspired by a beautiful poem recited by the school director Tomas Raibys, while teacher Rasa Lindžienė enchanted the audience with the magical sound of the kanklės (traditional Lithuanian string instrument).
The text, photos, and video material were prepared by Klaipėda Lyceum intern and journalism student Rita Jašinskė.
