The Small Klaipėda Lyceum is organizing a project-based reading week titled “Dialogue with a Book,” which will take place from March 23 to 27. The aim of this initiative is to encourage children’s interest in reading, foster creativity, and strengthen community ties through literary activities.
Throughout the week, various activities will be held, tailored to preschool, pre-primary, and primary school students. In preschool groups, daily storytime sessions will be organized, involving not only children but also their parents and grandparents, thus strengthening cooperation between families and the educational institution.
Pre-primary students will take part in an educational session with Eglė Jokužytė titled “A Sensory Journey into the Invisible World,” create dioramas based on book stories, and meet the well-known children’s author Lina Žutautė. These activities will encourage experiencing books through hands-on activities, creativity, and direct interaction with authors.
Primary school students will participate in creative workshops with artist and writer Sigutė Ach, as well as a reading marathon and other initiatives promoting reading.
On March 26, the entire community will be invited to a themed day, “The Day I Become a Fairy Tale Character – A Book Hero.” On the same day, a performance titled “The Secret School” will take place, dedicated to commemorating the Year of the Book Smuggler.
The week will conclude on March 27 with a book fair, bringing together students, teachers, and parents to share books and the joy of reading.
The project week “Dialogue with a Book” is an important part of the Little Klaipėda Lyceum’s educational approach, aiming to nurture a reading, creative, and culturally active young generation.
