On March 10, an experiential learning day took place

Students participated in various educational activities and went on excursions. The highlights of the day are below!

Grade 3A students visited the Castle Museum. There they learned about the printing of the first books and the tools used for it. During the educational activity, the children made their own bookmarks and decorated them with Gothic-style letters written with a quill.

Grade 3V students, together with economics teacher Alina Velykienė, explored how to manage money so that it can “grow.” They examined ancient coins and their value. They also learned how to plan expenses, save money, and create a business.

Grade 3 PYP F students met with Paulius Jurjonas, Vice President of the Lithuanian Association of the Deaf. During the meeting, they learned about Deaf culture and practiced some basic sign language gestures. The guest shared his positivity and inspired the students to take an interest in sign language.

Grade 4R students also visited Šiauliai. At the Bicycle Museum they learned about the history of the invention of the bicycle. At the Photography Museum they not only explored the first cameras and photographs, but also developed photographs themselves.

Grade 5A students once again explored the sea and nature 🌿🌊. They visited the KU STEAM Centre and worked in the marine and biology–chemistry laboratories. Students investigated plants and their structures, learned how to use microscopes, and explored the impact of oil spills—how they can be cleaned up and how they affect marine life.

Grade 5 PYP A students visited the Memel Nord Coastal Artillery Battery. They learned about the period of World War II, coastal defense, and the life of soldiers. They saw bunkers and artillery positions and discovered how the Baltic Sea coast was protected.
