Nordic walking

On December 12-16th, when there was ample snow present, the students of 3rd-4th grades experienced the joys of winter. Not afraid of the raging snow storm or the cold, during the lunch break in school, the children, alongside the school health specialist, exercised outside and went on Nordic walks.

The main benefits of Nordic walking:

· Easy to learn

· 30% less pressure on the body parts responsible for movement (exceptionally useful for those with joint and back problems)

· relaxes the muscles in the neck and shoulder area

· an effective method of training outdoors for losing weight

· enhances one’s stamina, and simultaneously exercises upper body strength

· stimulates heart and blood vessel wellbeing

· as a consequence of active breathing techniques better the oxygen flow throughout the entire body · the best known outdoor rehabilitation method for those recovering after sport traumas
