On Friday, October 10, an exhibition from the Palanga Amber Museum opened on the 3rd floor of the school building. The exhibition showcased the museum’s history and collections, offered a closer look at amber inclusions, and demonstrated what can be made from amber.
The opening was attended by the Museum Director, Sigita Bagužaitė-Talačkienė, who, together with the history teacher, engaged students with questions about how many unseen artifacts are hidden in museum archives. They also discussed the healing properties of amber.
After the opening, fifth-grade students had the opportunity to participate in an educational workshop called “Properties of Amber.” During the activities, they observed amber melting, rubbed amber dust, and even tried polishing small pieces of amber themselves.
We are delighted about the collaboration between the school and the museum and are happy to share moments from Friday’s event.
