Students of the 3a and 3m grades visited the Žemaitija artist union’s gallery, where they, together with a ceramicists, tried to “tame” clay. They found out that the clay,
which they were sculpting with, was dug out from a depth of 9-10 metres. They acquainted themselves with the tools used by ceramicists and applied their knowledge in practice. The students learned to join various details on a clay sculpture using appropriate methods and how to shape a clay pot with their fingertips while it’s on a moving ceramic wheel. The students liked creating, sculpting clay and making things out of clay because clay is a very comfortable material.
The students’ creations are already drying on the windowsills in the classrooms.
