3v class ended their school year with a citizenship event. The children decided to spend the money they had earned at the Kaziukas fair, which took place in March, to provide support and care for the animals living in animal shelters. Last week we managed to make our way to “Happy Feet Public Institution”.
The children had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the way the shelter works and the happy four-legged occupants of said shelter. They also got to meet the employees of the institution – volunteers – and found out more about volunteering.
The establishment took us in with great appreciation and gratitude for the provided support and respectful behaviour with the animals. The students donated 350 euros to “Happy Feet”. The students also brought food and toys for the animals being raised there. The children learned about what a great responsibility it is to have a pet, shared their experience and promised to one day come back and volunteer at the place.
