From March 17 to 24, we welcomed students and teachers from the “La Joliverie” school (France). These intercultural exchanges, now taking place for the fourth consecutive year, have become one of the most beautiful traditions of our school.
Our guests enjoyed a rich and engaging programme – from active participation in lessons to discovering Lithuania beyond the school environment. Together, we explored Palanga and the Amber Museum, visited the Science and Innovation Centre “Mokslo Sala” in Kaunas, and delved into the historical secrets of Klaipėda.
One of the most meaningful and heartfelt parts of the project was the students’ stay with Lithuanian host families. It is here that genuine and lasting connections are formed, while everyday culture is experienced through shared breakfasts and sincere conversations that naturally strengthen language skills.
We would also like to remind you that last year our students visited Nantes, where they experienced the spirit of France firsthand. Such experiences foster openness, cultural awareness, and the confidence to act in an international environment – qualities that are essential for young people today.
We are delighted that this journey continues. Already this May, we have formed a new team of students who will prepare for future exchanges, continue meaningful international activities, and further strengthen the friendships that have already been established.
The international project is coordinated by Klaipėda Lyceum teachers A. Niparė and L. Šmaižienė.
