Klaipėdos licėjus mokiniams ir mokytojams įteikė net 243 apdovanojimus/Klaipėdos Licėjus’ students and teachers received 243 awards

With the end of the school year the most ambitious and gifted members of the licėjus community were honored during the annual Klaipėdos Licėjus “Blue carpet” celebration. This year, the celebration was full of solemn and tender moments which, according to the organizers of the event, best showcase the spirit of the school’s community.

Three-day-long marathon of events

This year’s “Blue carpet” ceremony was exceptional in its length and atmosphere. The celebratory mood in the Licėjus territory held on for three days. A large scene with LED screens was set up in the inner square of the school – this is where the award ceremony and various student and community member performances took place.

Weather conditions – not an obstacle

According to the director of the event Tomas Jašinskas, even though, this year, the “Blue carpet” ceremony faced a great challenge of inclement weather conditions and rain, the ceremonial tone and positive emotions were present throughout the event.

“The idea behind the soon-to-take-place national cinema awards is – the strong stand in the storm, the weak seek shelter. I thought to myself – this is the perfect encapsulation of the Klaipėdos Licėjus community – in spite of the inclement weather or various challenges, everyone persevered in trying to make this event a reality throughout the span of three days. I would like to personally thank all the participants who, even when it rained, helped keep the festivities grand.” – says T. Jašinskas.

Respect for the community

243 prize-winning places won by the students and teams in various city, national, and International competitions,  were honored in this year’s “Blue carpet” ceremony.

The members of the community who, this year, actively contributed to various social initiatives and projects were also honored during the annual “Blue carpet” celebration. During the event the winners nominated for the Subject of the Year, Leader of the Year and Volunteer of the Year amongst many others were announced.

The prestigious Teacher of the Year award went to Klaipėdos Licėjus biology sciences’ teacher Eglė Radzevičė this year. Licėjus parent’s community also awarded E. Radzevičė with the special Talented Young Teacher Prize.

According to Licėjus head Dr. Regina Kontautienė, this year’s celebration was meant to highlight and honor as many active members of the community, of varying ages, as possible.

“We seek to include the widest array of people. We can truly celebrate the achievements and initiative of our smallest and eldest students. This brings excitement – each year this celebration gets more massive and more festive. The members of our community definitely deserve this large and grand event” – the head of the liceum stated.

Tender performances on the celebration stage

This year Klaipėdos Licėjus was met with a new International school status. During the end-of-the-school-year celebration one could see performances inspired by the nationality of other countries.

One of the more tender performances of the Klaipėdos Licėjus celebration was a song, performed by a mother of one of the Ukrainian students in the school. The aforementioned mother and her daughter had to flee from the war back home and moved to Klaipėda. Along with the school chorus the woman performed a famous Ukrainian song „Červona Kalyna“. During the performance for the upper-class students – the Ukrainian song “Cvite teren” was sung. Klaipėdos Licėjus student and parent community not only learnt the words, but also performed the song beautifully.

According to the organizers, this year’s “Blue carpet” ceremony truly stood out with the amount of artistic performances, and brought so much joy with the fact that, each year, these performances are made possible with the growing input  of not only the pedagogical staff of Licėjus, or it’s students, but the parents of the students and other family members.
