Spalio 26–27 dienomis Klaipėdos licėjaus 6–8 klasių mokiniai kartu su savo mokytojais dalyvavo projektinėje veikloje „Pažink savo miestą”. Nebuvo mieste tokios vietelės ar įstaigos, kurioje nebūtų atsakymų ieškoję jaunieji tyrinėtojai. Vieni ieškojo išsibarsčiusių po miestą skulptūrų, jas tyrinėjo ir vėliau skulptūros atgijo žaidimo figūrėlių pavidalu. Kiti švarino savo miestą, tyrė užterštumo problemas, domėjosi miesto istorija, čia veikiančiomis bibliotekomis, muziejais, žiniasklaidos priemonėmis.
Smagu tai, kad visas sukauptas žinias mokiniai susistemino, apibendrino ir sumaniai, kūrybiškai įamžino plakatuose. Visą savaitę licėjaus bendruomenė buvo kviečiama į projektų pristatymus aktų salėje. Žinoma, akylesnė akis ar jautresnė ausis galėjo išvysti ar išgirsti kiek iš jaudulio virpantį balsą, pasimiršusį žodį, nerimastingą rankų ir kojų drebulį. Bet argi scenos baimė nepažįstama mums visiems? Daug smagiau buvo mėgautis įdomiais pasakojimas, jautriomis miesto istorijos detalėmis, sukurtais achrostikais, įgytomis patirtimis, netgi dainomis, skirtomis Klaipėdos miestui. Patyriminio ugdymo veiklos ne tik leido naujai pažinti savo miestą, bet ir iš naujo jį pamilti.
On October 26th-27th Klaipėda Licėjus 6th-8th grade students and their teachers participated in a project called “Get to know your city”. There was not a single place in the city where the young researcher hadn’t sought out answers and information about Klaipėda. Some sought out sculptures scattered all throughout the city, analyzed them and then recreated them as game figurines. Others cleaned up their city, explored issues of pollution, acquainted themselves with the history of their city – it’s operating libraries, museums, means of journalism.
It was exciting to see the students synthesize the information they had gathered into creative and informative posters. The entire Licėjus community was invited to participate in the presenting of said project in the assembly hall. Of course, a trained eye and a more sensitive ear could notice the trembling voices, a forgotten word, trembling of hands and legs. However, are we not all familiar with stagefright? We know that, regardless of stagefright, it is exciting to listen to interesting retellings, heart-warming information and details about the history of our town, created acrostics, gained experiences, even songs created for the city of Klaipėda. These research activities allowed people to not only reacquaint themselves with their home-town, but to also fall in love with it all over again.
