Džiaugiamės ir didžiuojamės, kad tarptautiniai ekspertai iš Olandijos ir Graikijos praėjusią savaitę puikiai įvertino Klaipėdos licėjaus pasirengimą vykdyti dar vieną tarptautinio bakalaureato programą, skirtą 11-16 metų mokiniams (IB MYP – Middle Years Programme).
IB MYP programa skirta parengti mokinius dviejų metų trukmės IB diplomo (IB DP) programai 11–12 klasėse ir įgyti visame pasaulyje pripažįstamą diplomą, padedantį įstoti į geriausius universitetus Lietuvoje ir užsienyje. Ją naudoja 1358 mokyklos 108 šalyse.
Licėjaus mokytojai savo pasirengimą pradėjo 2021/22 mokslo metais startuodama su dviem šeštomis ir viena septinta MYP klasėmis, dabartiniais septintokais ir aštuntokais. Šiuo metu pagal IB MYP Klaipėdos licėjuje mokosi 6-8 klasių mokiniai. Klaipėdos licėjus IB MYP programą įgyvendina antrus metus.
IB pasaulinės organizacijos deleguoti programos ekspertai–vertintojai: Gokce Dagdeviren (Olandija) ir Olga Giovani (Graikija) praėjusią savaitę dvi dienas intensyviai bendravo su vadybine grupe, mokytojais, pagalbos specialistais ugdymui ir mokiniais. Jos vertino, kaip Klaipėdos licėjus atitinka šiuos IB MYP programai keliamus kriterijus:

Ekspertai išskyrė šias stipriąsias Klaipėdos licėjaus pasirengimo vykdyti IB MYP puses:
- Mokinių anglų kalbos žinios labai aukšto lygio. Mokiniai gali nemažai mokymo dalykų turinio mokytis ir suprasti anglų kalba. Dėl to buvo pasiūlyta 9–10 klasėse anglų kalbą keisti į anglų kalbą ir literatūrą. Pasak ekspertų, mokiniai tam turi reikiamus anglų kalbos įgūdžius ir žinias.
- Mokinių pasiekimų vertinimas taikant IB MYP pasiekimų vertinimo reikalavimus, kurie yra visiškai skirtingi nei nacionalinėje programoje. Vertinimas, pasak ekspertų, suprantamas ir mokiniams, ir mokinių tėvams. Tarptautinių ekspertų teigimu, šioje srityje Klaipėdos licėjus yra labai pažengęs ir lenkia net kai kurias mokyklas, kurios IB MYP programą įgyvendina gerokai anksčiau.
- Klaipėdos licėjaus psichologų komandos darbas. Tai, ką turi Klaipėdos licėjus, turi nedaugelis IB MYP programą įgyvendinančių mokyklų pasaulyje.
- Stipri, palaikanti mokinių tėvų bendruomenė.

We are joyful and proud to say that International experts from Holland and Greece evaluated Klaipėda lyceum preparedness to teach within the International Baccalaureate MYP (Middle Years Programme) – designed for 11-16-year-old students – as excellent last week.
IB MYP programme is designed to prepare students for the two-year IB Diploma Programme which the students participate in in the 11-12th grades and are able to receive an internationally accepted and recognized diploma from. This diploma allows students to apply to some of the best Universities in Lithuania and/or abroad. 1358 schools in 108 countries are currently using and teaching with this programme.
Lyceum teachers began their preparations in 2021/2022 school year, beginning with two sixth and one seventh MYP classes – the current seventh and eighth graders. Currently, Klaipėda Licėjus students from 6-8th grades participate in IB MYP. Klaipėda lyceum has been participating in the IB MYP programme for only two years so far.
Delegated representative experts of the IB global organisation – Gokce Dagdeviren (from Holland) and Olga Giovani (from Greece) communicated for extend periods of time with the executive group of teacher, subject teacher and specialists responsible for the well-being of students for two whole days. They were evaluating whether and in what ways Klaipėda lyceum fit the standards and criteria of an IB MYP school.

All these criteria have been met by Klaipėda Lyceum, according to the international evaluators.
Experts accentuated these particular strong suits of Klaipėda Lyceum and it’s preparedness to teach in the IB MYP system:
- The students’ knowledge of the English language was very high. The students are prepared to study and understand much of the taught material in English. This is why the experts suggested that students in the 9-10th grade study within the English language and literature programme and not Language Acquisition. According to the experts, students have enough English language skills and knowledge to participate in this programme
- The evaluation of student achievements in accordance with IB MYP achievement evaluation requirements which are entirely different from those of the national programme. The evaluation, based on the experts, is understood by the students and their parents. Based on the statements of the international experts, Klaipėda lyceum is exceptionally advanced and is ahead of a lot of schools, which have been working with the IB MYP programme much longer.
